Common Objectives for Clinical Rotations

Upon completion of the clinical rotations, students should be able to....

  1. Develop a data base.
  2. Construct a master problem list.
  3. Chart patient information.
  4. Manage, with appropriate physician collaboration, common, uncomplicated, medical problems.
  5. Identify indications for diagnostic procedures.
  6. Identify the relationship between medical and socioeconomic problems, and recognize the importance of the impact of culture on health beliefs and medical care.
  7. Provide patient education and counseling at an appropriate level of comprehension and sensitivity.
  8. Perform basic clinical procedures, e.g. venipuncture, suturing, laboratory tests, etc.
