Pamela Karp, MHS, OTR/L, CHT
Academic Fieldwork Coordinator
Professor Karp earned her Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from Stony Brook University in 1999 and her post professional Master's degree from the University of Florida in 2010. Her clinical expertise is in the area of upper extremity/hand therapy. She has been a Certified Hand Therapist since 2005. Professor Karp has also practiced in school based and acute care settings.
Professor Karp has held adjunct positions at several universities teaching courses in advanced orthopedics, hand therapy, and motor learning. She has guest lectured on splinting and orthotics.
Since 2008, Professor Karp has been an adjunct professor in Stony Brook University's weekend OTA to OT Program and has taught numerous courses including Acute Care, Physical Agent Modalities, Disability Studies, and Community Health. She has participated in local community projects with Occupational Therapy Program faculty and students. Her other responsibilities include mentoring students developing research projects in their areas of interest.
Currently Professor Karp is a full time Clinical Assistant Professor and Academic Fieldwork Coordinator at Stony Brook. She will continue the tradition of representing Stony Brook University as a member of the Metropolitan Occupational Therapy Education Council [MOTEC] of NY/NJ.
