When I first thought of returning to school for occupational therapy, I immediately thought of Stony Brook University and their strong reputation for sciences. I knew once I graduated I would be well prepared and highly recognized as a graduate from one of the best schools around. The professors were not only teachers, but they were clinicians who were able to teach from the books, but more importantly, teach from their experiences. This was more valuable than strictly reading from a book. Once I completed my degree and went into the real world, I realized I was more prepared and educated than some of my peers. Stony Brook University gave me an all-around solid foundation in all aspects of occupational therapy. Without it, I don’t know if I could have been as successful and respected among my associates as I am.

The Stony Brook occupational therapy program encouraged me to develop my own style and really prepared me to be an OT in the real world. The professors are well rounded, knowledgable, and committed to the success of each student. I am proud to say I am a Stony Brook OT alumni.
