Advance Certificate in HCM

July 2013:  Until further notice, applications for the Master of Science in Health Care Policy and Management have been suspended.

 

 The Advanced Certificate in Health Care Management has an application deadline of November 1, for Spring  start and May 1 for fall start.  Students who are accepted must be matriculated for at least two semesters.

Students who are not already matriculated in the SBU MBA program must not assume that credits/coursework taken for the Advanced Certificate in Healthcare Management can be counted toward an MBA or any other SBU degree.

Advanced Certificate in Health Care Management:  Now Available Online or Traditionally (on campus)

Important Information for All Advanced Certificate Students - read this before registering

All courses are 3 credits. You must complete 18 credits.

Students must take a minimum of four Health Care Management courses (12 credits). Students may take two generic management courses through The College of Business (courses must be approved by HCPM).  Students who are matriculated in the SHTM Physician Assistant post-professional masters program at the same time as they are matriculated in the AC HCM program may take and count HAP 505 toward the Advanced Certificate in Health Care Management (AC in HCM).  If HAP 505 is counted toward the AC in HCM, only one generic management course through The College of Business may also be counted toward the AC in HCM. Students must meet with their advisor prior to selecting courses. All coursework must be taken at Stony Brook. Advanced Certificate students may not transfer credits from another university.
