The Paramedic Program will not discriminate in its admission policies on the basis of sex, race, national origin, religion, or sexual preference.
All candidates must meet the following minimum requirements and provide documentation prior to beginning the program.
Be a currently certified New York State EMT or AEMT.
Hold a high school diploma or equivalent.
Be at least 18 years of age.
Have EMS experience at or above the EMT level.
Admission is based upon three weighted criteria.
A standardized written test of math and English skills.
A written test of medical knowledge at the basic EMT level.
A personal interview with the program staff.
Candidates with prior advanced training (AEMT-3, RN, etc.) who wish to enroll in the class for the entire course or who will seek advanced standing (see #3) will be evaluated on an equal basis with all other candidates as outlined above.
