Employment opportunities for athletic trainers are growing faster than average. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, current data reports a 19% growth in athletic training positions from 2012-2022. The professional setting for athletic trainers continues to expand, from the traditional settings of secondary schools, colleges and universities, and professional sports, to the emergent settings of the performing arts, hospital and clinics, occupational health, public safety and military, and physician offices.
The NATA website provides many publicly available resources, including “A Day in the Life” videos that show athletic trainers in various job settings.
