Alberto Guzman

Alberto Guzman, Ph.D. 

Dr. Guzman has a PhD in Disability Studies from the University of Illinois at Chicago. His main research interests are higher education participation and environmental factors influencing inclusive practices for Disabled students, staff and faculty.  At the University of Arizona he taught courses in Disability Studies in the College of Education, coordinated a trainee program at the Sonoran University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disability and worked with students, staff and faculty on ensuring access to University programs and activities. Dr. Guzman served on the board of directors of the Association of Higher Education and Disability (AHEAD) and continues to be a member of the review board for the Journal of Postsecondary Education and Disability.  He also served on the board of directors for the Society of Disability Studies (SDS). He is looking forward to mentoring Rachel McDonald.
