The School of Health Profession’s Occupational Therapy Program is a graduate 3-year program accredited by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) of the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA), located at:

Graduates of this program will receive a Master’s of Science in Occupational Therapy. Graduates will be able to sit for the national certification examination for occupational therapists administered by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT), located at:

A felony conviction may affect a graduate's ability to sit for the NBCOT certification examination or attain state licensure. Applicants are encouraged to contact NBCOT for an early determination review.

After successful completion of this exam, the individual will be an Occupational Therapist, Registered (OTR). Most states require licensure in order to practice, however, state licenses are usually based on the results of the NBCOT Certification Examination.

The Occupational Therapy program is also approved by the New York State Education Department.
